Guatemala Here I Come...

Tonight I had my first meeting for this wonderful and important trip. I learned so much and I'm so excited!
Please help keep this a possibility!
By November 15th I need to make a payment of $400 - You can help by either making a purchase in the Shop with Purpose shop on my website or at the GoFundMe page a friend set up for me (

During the trip I will be helping with multiple aspects for the Guatemalan people but here is a highlight of why this is so important:

Backstrap weaving is an ancient art practiced for centuries in many parts of the world. Peru, Guatemala, China, Japan, Bolivia, and Mexico are a few of the countries where weavers use a type of backstrap loom. Today it is still used on a daily basis, in many parts of Guatemala by Mayan women, to weave fabric for they're clothing and other needed household textiles such as shawls, baby wraps, tablecloths, washcloths, towels, and so much more.

As I go to these meetings - I will be sharing this adventure with you.  I find this to be such a blessing and gift out of no where.  But as humanity - we need to be ready to answer the call when it comes ringing to help those we share this beautiful planet with.  I will be traveling with a small but amazing crew of folks who feel this very way - and they've dubbed me the groups photographer which made my soul skip with joy.  The group has a group activity/challenge for the next two days, all of us have to carry around a trash bag and put everything we would throw away in it and post a picture of it on Saturday night.  So be ready for some quirky, trashy blog posts the next couple of days!  Things are about to get dirty up in here ;)
