A Busy Hub-Bub & Off to Guatemala
I have been pretty bad with keeping anyone and their dog up to date: so here's me trying to catch you up.
In the past couple of weeks I moved out with my little family out of our old rental house and into a potential home to buy (which has kinks and quirks to boot) but the upstairs studio is a dream. Once we hung up our collection of maps, prayer flags, collections from around the world, our music corner and books, we are now right at home amongst the city of boxes.
While moving and finishing up my semester, I went to my hubby's annual military ball. One of the best things about these ordeals, besides always good food, is the company. The company always holds your favorites and those you love and hold dear, it always is an array of people and all coming from every which way of life (let's just say, as a photographer, its an amazing space to be in.) It was a beautiful night, with speedy drinks and snazzy dresses and people both my hubby and I hold near. Though I'm sure I took well over 200+ pictures that nights, here's a snippet (one that makes my heart turn gooey).
And finally, there was the holidays. With moving, the Christmas season didn't feel too real and here until Christmas eve when we re-located our tree from the old house to the new house and we plugged in the lights and started up some jazzy Christmas tunage. Christmas day was filled with hot coco (spiked for the adults), a wintery snowy walk, tons of playing and giggling and ended with honey ham and Star Wars: A New Hope. My heart was so full.
Today was spent unpacking boxes and packing for my trip to Guatemala. The fact that I'm getting on a plane to be on this crazy adventure that's been in the works for 4+ months in less then 72-hours is sort of surreal. But this was the push for the quick brief and photo snippet as I will not be posting anything until my return. I feel so blessed, overwhelmed and excited (and desperately in need of coffee and warmer weather.) So from my heart to yours Happy New Year everyone. I'll see ya - write ya - and hear form you all in 2016.
