Good Morning...Or Afternoon...depending on where you hail from.
Man this week, it was an emotional one, helping the hubby pack up for his new job in Portland and making a mental countdown of when I get to see him again. I'm quite a big baby when it comes to the hubby simply because he's my best friend. He's the Nutella to my toast. The Coffeemate to my coffee.
Okay, you get the gist. Sorry. I had to be sappy for just a quick nano-second there.
Week five. Geeze, it's hard to believe its been that long already since I graduated. Well, like I said, I've spent a lot of time just with the husband. We got addicted to Netflix's original The Crown, so most of our evenings have been spent drinking wine and watching this or competing in intense Uno competitions with one another.
I really took some steps this week moving forward on my photography business (if you haven't already go add me on Facebook HERE and on Instagram HERE) <- Shameless plug. But I was able to sit down and write out the important parts, revamp the client contracts, and got to go do a beautiful photoshoot celebrating the love of Nathan and Skylar (blog post HERE.) Working this little photoshoot and going through the photos was that quick once again reminder that the most important aspect of all the art I make...from photography, sculpture to writing...is the connection to people. I crave it, like coffee all day. It's the joy in my life, the pep in my step. It's walking into a bar and their playing my song, it's the coffee/birthday cake ice cream from cold stone!
I also took a "studio" day to start working on my literature/fibers body of work...but I'm not so sure if I like it so far (what do you think?)
The husband and I started talking about our trip to Iceland later in the year, and started devising a plan for that (can I get a whoop whoop!) Its a goal of ours that NO MATTER how much we travel that particular year, to go somewhere we've never been before...and we really try to make that a country we've never been too. What can I say, we're travel junkies.
And then there were the smaller things that apply. My friend who was designing my shoulder tattoo got things all designed and finalized. I started on my next book to read. Our family went for a snow walk and made snow angels in a field and I ate a whole bag of BBQ chips without guilt.
I'm sure the next week (or several) without the constant of the hubb's is going to be hard, but I've been blessed with such amazing kids and this list to just keep me focused. Thank you for following along loves <3 <3 <3
